Gaffing Video

The following video shows the start of the process of hauling a snow crab traps. This includes gaffing the buoy, putting the rope on the hauler and moving the boom out from the boat to keep the rope away from the side of the boat. The hauler and boom is controlled by three hydraulic controls (hauler on/off, boom up/down, and boom in/out). The slow process of all 120 fathoms of rope being taken aboard is omitted. That would take between one and two minutes.
