Emptying Crab From Trap

The trap is moved aboard the boat by swinging the boom. You can only see the boom in the bottom photo. The crew is only trying to keep the trap steady (they are not pulling it over the deck). The trap weighs over 200 lbs and it may have up to 500 lbs of crab.

The trap is now in place and the rope holding the bottom of the trap closed is unhooked.

The bottom is now open and the crab fall onto the deck. The rope that keeps the bottom of the trap closed can be seen right below the orange glove.
